Jesus E. Florido


Jesús E. Florido combines his classical training with his knowledge of Afro-Latin, Jazz, Rock, and Fiddle music to create a compelling artistry, balanced on a fine axis of musical virtuosity and heart.  A live performer who has shared the stage with many great artists and a lot of his idols as well, he loves teaching and he is a highly sought-after teacher and clinician. He regularly conducts workshops and clinics for kids all around the world. He resides in  Los Angeles where he works in his private studio and continues to practice as much as he can while packing his bags for the next trip after going on a nature hike with his wife and son.

Harry Hartford

Causeway Capital

Mr. Hartford is the President at Causeway, Portfolio Manager for the firm's Fundamental and Absolute Return strategies, and Director of Research. Mr. Hartford co-founded the firm in June 2001 and is a member of the Operating Committee. From 1996 to June 2001, Mr. Hartford was a Managing Director for the Hotchkis and Wiley division of Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (HW-MLIM) and co-head of the firm's HW-MLIM International and Global Value team. From 1994 to 1996, Mr. Hartford was a Portfolio Manager for Hotchkis and Wiley. From 1984 to 1994, Mr. Hartford was with The Investment Bank of Ireland, where he gained ten years’ experience in both International and Global equity management. During this time, Mr. Hartford also managed the Irish Investment Fund, a closed-end country fund quoted on the NYSE. Before entering the investment business, Mr. Hartford lectured in micro and macro Economics at Oklahoma State University.

Sydnie Karras

BFA Industries

Sydnie Karras is a Director of Accounting at BFA Industries Inc, home to the largest beauty subscription brands in the world: IPSY and BoxyCharm, brand incubator Madeby Collective, and personal care brand, Refreshments. Sydnie earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Santa Clara University and has been a Certified Public Accountant since June 2011. Sydnie is a sports enthusiast and a Los Angeles native who is passionate about urban youth enrichment.

Social media marketing leader and proven community architect with an extensive track record of constructing and managing fully integrated global social media and digital marketing campaigns. Delivered significant earned media impressions for leading interactive entertainment properties including Square Enix, Sony PlayStation, EA, WWE and UFC Games. Recognized for out-of-the-box thinking, award-winning creative content, and leading cross-functional collaboration with internal and external partners. Aaron also serves as volunteer Tournament Director for the LA SCORES Cup.


Justin Portaz

Justin Portaz is the Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer at Jenner & Block LLP, a law firm with international reach and approximately 500 lawyers across six offices in the United States and Europe. In this role, Justin oversees all aspects of the firm’s business development, communications, branding, competitive intelligence, and marketing operations. A trusted strategist and collaborative partner to firm lawyers and professionals, he works closely with firm leaders to develop and execute important initiatives that identify and expand business development opportunities, enhance client satisfaction, and improve the firm’s market position and brand. Justin is a past President of the Legal Marketing Association, Los Angeles Chapter (2013), where he served on the Chapter board for five years. He gained experience at two global law firms before joining Jenner & Block in late 2012. A cum laude graduate from Georgetown University with a degree in International Business and Marketing, Justin spent his first two years of undergraduate study in Madrid, Spain.

David Shaheen

Board Chair

David Shaheen joined J.P. Morgan in 1993 and is currently Managing Director and Group Head of the firm’s Entertainment Industries Group, based in Los Angeles. Shaheen has been with J.P. Morgan’s Entertainment team since 1995 and specializes in highly structured financings and advisory assignments for intellectual property/content production and distribution companies, globally. During his tenure with J.P. Morgan’s Entertainment team, Mr. Shaheen has been engaged in the structuring, negotiation and arranging of capital for leading entertainment companies in film, television, music and exhibition and has been involved in many of the industry’s most important financing and advisory assignments for Lions Gate, MGM Studios, Legendary Pictures, Amblin Partners, BMG Rights Management, Village Roadshow and Entertainment One. Prior to joining the Entertainment team in Los Angeles, Mr. Shaheen was part of the firm’s Investment Banking team in New York responsible for coverage of Diversified Industries and leveraged buyout portfolio. Mr. Shaheen holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Anderson School at UCLA and a BA in Economics from Boston College, and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
