Board of Directors
Mr. Hartford is the President at Causeway, Portfolio Manager for the firm's Fundamental and Absolute Return strategies, and Director of Research. Mr. Hartford co-founded the firm in June 2001 and is a member of the Operating Committee. From 1996 to June 2001, Mr. Hartford was a Managing Director for the Hotchkis and Wiley division of Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (HW-MLIM) and co-head of the firm's HW-MLIM International and Global Value team. From 1994 to 1996, Mr. Hartford was a Portfolio Manager for Hotchkis and Wiley. From 1984 to 1994, Mr. Hartford was with The Investment Bank of Ireland, where he gained ten years’ experience in both International and Global equity management. During this time, Mr. Hartford also managed the Irish Investment Fund, a closed-end country fund quoted on the NYSE. Before entering the investment business, Mr. Hartford lectured in micro and macro Economics at Oklahoma State University.
Aaron Kaufman began his career in video games at EA Los Angeles, representing the studio’s action strategy games for 7 years as the Social Media Community Manager and also as an Associate Producer. He then ventured to THQ where he spent 2 years creating a social media foundation for the video games under WWE Games and UFC Undisputed. Currently, Aaron is now working on establishing an online and social media platform for one of Sony PlayStation’s critically acclaimed studios, Sony Santa Monica, as their Senior Community Strategist. Aaron also serves as volunteer Tournament Director for the LA SCORES Cup.
John S. Kim
Disney Worldwide Services, Inc.
John Kim is a manager on the Insights and Integration team within The Walt Disney Company’s Corporate Citizenship department. He leads the company’s citizenship reporting efforts and their work in prioritizing, monitoring, and responding to citizenship/sustainability rankings and ratings. Previously he was the Better World (CSR) marketing manager at Herman Miller, an account planner at Lipman Hearne and a Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco. John has his Masters in Public Policy from Georgetown University and a BS in Human Development and Policy Analysis and Management from Cornell University. He is a loyal Arsenal FC fan, for better or worse, and signed up as an LAFC ‘Original’!
Jenner & Block LLP
Justin Portaz is Director of Global Client and Business Development at Jenner & Block LLP, a law firm with international reach and approximately 500 lawyers across five offices in the United States and Europe. In this role, Justin works closely with firm leadership to develop and execute strategies that identify and expand business development opportunities, and enhance client satisfaction. He leads a global business development team in areas including client teams, client feedback, market intelligence and business planning. A past President of the Legal Marketing Association, Los Angeles Chapter (2013), Justin also served on the Chapter board for five years. He gained experience at two global law firms before joining Jenner & Block in late 2012. A cum laude graduate from Georgetown University with a degree in International Business and Marketing, Justin spent his first two years of undergraduate study in Madrid, Spain.
Lee Rawles is the Vice President of Business Affairs for Electronic Arts. Electronic Arts is the world’s leading interactive entertainment software company, most well-known for EA SPORTS titles such as FIFA soccer and Madden football. Lee is responsible for all in-bound content licensing for EA SPORTS, EA Games, EA All Play (EA’s social, mobile and casual games business unit), Bioware, and Maxis publishing labels. Before Electronic Arts, Lee worked in the Corporate Department of Paul Hastings, where he counseled clients in technology, publishing and new media transactions, complex strategic partnerships, and other intellectual property matters. Lee obtained his JD from the University of Southern California. Lee has played soccer since kindergarten and still enjoys participating in pickup games from time to time. When time permits, Lee dusts off his referee uniform as a way of giving back to the game that has so tremendously enriched his life. Lee joined the America SCORES LA board in 2012.
David Shaheen joined J.P. Morgan in 1993 and is currently Managing Director and Group Head of the firm’s Entertainment Industries Group, based in Los Angeles. Shaheen has been with J.P. Morgan’s Entertainment team since 1995 and specializes in highly structured financings and advisory assignments for intellectual property/content production and distribution companies, globally. During his tenure with J.P. Morgan’s Entertainment team, Mr. Shaheen has been engaged in the structuring, negotiation and arranging of capital for leading entertainment companies in film, television, music and exhibition and has been involved in many of the industry’s most important financing and advisory assignments for Lions Gate, MGM Studios, Legendary Pictures, Amblin Partners, BMG Rights Management, Village Roadshow and Entertainment One. Prior to joining the Entertainment team in Los Angeles, Mr. Shaheen was part of the firm’s Investment Banking team in New York responsible for coverage of Diversified Industries and leveraged buyout portfolio. Mr. Shaheen holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Anderson School at UCLA and a BA in Economics from Boston College, and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

Paul A. Carr-Rollitt advises clients on general and nonprofit corporate transactions and health care regulatory issues. Paul represents a wide range of clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, affiliations, reorganizations, public offerings and private equity transactions, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, licensure and general corporate matters. Paul and his colleagues at McDermott Will and Emery compete every year in the LA SCORES Cup and have won the B Division of the tournament in 2005, 2013 and 2014.
